OPC Perinatal SUD Initiative – Open Webinars
As part of the Implementation of the Perinatal SUD Initiative, the OPC is pleased to offer a series of webinars that are open to anyone that would like to join, and will also be recorded and posted to our website.
Monday, September 21st, 12-1pm.
During this session, we will review the relationship between SUD and trauma and how Trauma Informed Care (TIC) can increase engagement in services, then walk through scenarios for applying a TIC lens across stages of care at the intrapersonal, interpersonal, and organizational levels.

Diana Louise Smith, CNM, MPH is a certified nurse-midwife based in Portland, Oregon and a subject matter expert on perinatal substance use. In her work with Project Nurture, Diana provides integrated substance use treatment and maternity care in a model that centers lived experience and integrated physical and behavioral healthcare during pregnancy and through the year postpartum.
Recent Webinars
On Nov. 4, 2025, the Oregon Perinatal Collaborative coordinated a webinar on informed choice and respectful care with Dr. Nicholas Rubashkin of the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and Human Rights in Childbirth. We have had many requests from OPC partners, especially those of you working on community birth transfer improvement, for more focused continuing education and this area, and we are excited to share this case study-based webinar highlighting best practices for common areas of conflict or concern in prenatal and labor care.

Oregon Doula Workforce Analysis
On December 1st, 2025, the Oregon Perinatal Collaborative coordinated a webinar that introduced key findings and recommendations from the recently published Oregon Doula Workforce Analysis. Representatives from CORE, who completed the study and the Oregon Doula Association, who were part of the planning and supported the connections into the community were on the call as well to share about related work and participate in a group discussion about the recommendations.

Severe Hypertension Initiative Webinars
From June 2024-June 2025, hospital teams across Oregon participated in a quality initiative to implement the Severe Hypertension in Pregnancy and Postpartum toolkit. The following webinars were offered in support of the initiative. OPC Severe Hypertension Initiative - Final Webinar
The 13-month OPC Severe Hypertension quality improvement initiative is coming to an end in June 2025. On June 12th , 2025, from 12-1pm all are invited to a webinar to hear lessons learned and best practices identified by the 25 hospitals who participated.
