Care Oregon Pregnancy and Substance Use Disorder Learning Series

Care Oregon is hosting a three-day in-person learning series in Portland, OR, focusing on pregnancy and substance use disorder. The sessions are scheduled for Feb. 7, March 14, and April 4, 2025, each running from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Melody Event Center.
Each day begins with registration and breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by sessions covering topics such as substance use disorders, stigma and bias, harm reduction strategies, and collaboration across systems. Lunch and networking opportunities are included. CME credits, including MOC-II, are available through OHSU School of Medicine.

Day 2 – March 14: Considering Culture and Community
Day 3 – April 4: Care Coordination Across the Continuum

Participants are encouraged to attend all three days but may choose to attend individual sessions. Please register for each day you plan to attend. Breakfast and lunch are provided. For dietary restrictions, indicate them on the registration form.

Join the 2025 Maternal Mental Health (MMH) Forum, where policymakers, payors, provider leaders and partners will come together to tackle challenges and solutions in maternal mental health care. The agenda will cover critical topics at the intersection of policy, payment and practice, including federal and state MMH legislation, Medicaid and postpartum care reimbursement, mental health provider payment gaps, and integrating behavioral health into maternal care. Discussions will also address equity in maternal mental health, focusing on preterm birth, NICUs, and financial strategies to reduce parental stress. CE credits will not be offered for this event

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Addiction Consult Line
We want to make sure that OPC partners know about the OHSU Addiction Consult Line. They provide free, same-day phone consultation to Oregon physicians, advance practice providers, pharmacists, care coordinators, peer support specialists, and others who need advice on addiction treatment. Consultation is available about pregnant and postpartum people including information on starting medications during pregnancy, managing withdrawal, and pain during and after delivery.
To reach them, call OHSU’s Physician and Advice Referral Service at 503-494-4567, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Ask for the Addiction Consult Line.
Their goal is to increase Oregon providers’ access to life-saving addiction treatment.
They can help with:
- Starting and titrating medications, including methadone and buprenorphine for opioid use disorder, and medications for alcohol use disorder
- Managing acute pain in the context of opioid use disorder
- Supporting buprenorphine low-dose “micro” inductions
- Legal questions about prescribing medications for opioid use disorder
- Any other addiction-related questions

Please join the Oregon Perinatal Collaborative as we host experts from across the state on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from noon to 1:30 p.m. to briefly review the updates and new Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) conditions of participation impacting obstetric care in all areas of Oregon hospitals, to engage in discussion with peers, and to plan next steps for collaboration across sites if desired.
The agenda will include:
- Brief overview of the CMS Conditions of Participation elements impacting obstetric services that were announced in November 2024, including timeline
- Brief introduction of available resources for hospitals as they plan
- Highlights from colleagues at a couple of Oregon hospitals about their planning so far
- Breakout discussions among peers to share plans and questions
- Planning for next steps based on feedback of participants

- Quality and regulator/compliance leaders who support hospitals with CMS conditions of participation
