Dr. Dale Reisner presents data at the fourth annual Oregon Perinatal Summit.

The fourth annual OPC Perinatal Summit was hosted by Providence Willamette Falls and featured keynote speaker Dale Reisner, MD, of the Washington State Perinatal Collaborative. Over 100 attendees from across Oregon joined thought leaders, public health advocates, quality improvement staff, and advocates to discuss the status of maternal health in Oregon.

This year’s summit included a focus on reducing maternal morbidity and mortality and addressing the racial and ethnic disparities in accessing care and health outcomes. Breakout sessions in the afternoon focused on induction of labor practices, obstetrical hemorrhage, timeliness in treating hypertension, and venous thromboembolism in pregnancy and the postpartum period. Input from participants served as a springboard for future work and statewide initiatives of the OPC.

This summit is held annually with leadership and funding from the Oregon March of Dimes and in kind donations from Providence. The OPC is grateful to our participants and sponsors, without whom this important event wouldn’t be possible.
